Well a few weeks ago the Sangamon County Sheriffs Office “accidentally” released over two dozen of Advanced Correctional Healthcare‘s Employees Personal Information to our office.
Shortly after they released the information they requested us to delete the information.
Naturally we wouldn’t want anyone’s personal information released, you know the Sangamon County Sheriffs Office did release one of our staff members personal information to the entire internet but refused to do anything about it since they don’t like him.
Chief Deputy Joseph Roesch with the Sangamon County Sheriffs Office sent a letter yesterday to our administration staff. Take A Look At The Full Letter Here!
Boy when they make a mistake that affected their own they are all over fixing it, but when it affects someone they don’t like they refuse to do anything. Lets address this letter real quick in pieces.
The Sherriff’s Office threatens to pursue this to get our “business license” revoked. Wouldn’t they just love that if they could get that done, but sadly try again you can’t as we did not do anything wrong.
We never stated that we released the information. In our email to the Sangamon County Sheriffs Office we encouraged them to contact all the employees whose information was released (this was days after they released it). We did warn the Sangamon County Sheriffs Office that their was a “breach” in our staffs email server. We noticed that there was an unauthorized login and active session from Bulgaria. While we do have staff in other counties Bulgaria is one that we do not. We disconnected the active session and took the appropriate security actions into securing our servers. The problem we alerted the Sangamon County Sheriffs Office to is that there was a great risk that the information that THEY office released to us was accessed by that breach and read before our staff read the email and the later email to delete the information.
Furthermore Exposed Publishing, NFP publishes solely on its periodical “SpringfieldILExposed.com”. A simple search of the website shows only two articles mentioning “Advanced Correctional Healthcare” Sangamon County Sheriff Releases Over 2 Dozen Subcontracted Employees Private Information & Unscreened Employees Working In The Sangamon County Jail!?.
As anyone can see we DID NOT release any of the sensitive information. On the advice of our legal counsel we didn’t even release what we legally could have (names, addresses, etc.) as we did not want to put former correctional employees in possible harms way.
It is a shame the Sangamon County Sheriff’s Office didn’t even notify these employees or do anything, until our office publicly announced that they released it. Sadly they only do this when it affects people they “like”.
It is clear the Sangamon County Sheriff’s Office doesn’t like our organization. They do everything within their power to hinder our operations. They refuse to even participate with us to help combat crime, even though statistically we have been able to help other agencies very well.
We are not going anywhere, quit trying to intimidate our staff and do the job we pay you for.
