You may have caught the traditional media stories yesterday on Mr. Millers most recent arrest.
According to police Mr. Miller was arrested for stealing four guns, jewelry, food, tools and other miscellaneous items from a home on South State Street Tuesday.
Mr. Miller faces possible charges of residential burglary, possession of a stolen firearm, unlawful possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, criminal damage to property & theft of property over $500. He also had an outstanding warrant for aggravated battery & retail theft.
Springfield police said officers responded to a home in the 2400 block of South State Street for a burglary in process at 12:13 p.m on Tuesday. Officers located a man matching the description provided by the caller. Mr. Miller according to police took off on foot, but after a brief pursuit he was taken into custody in the 2500 block of South State. Miller was taken to the Springfield Police Department and interviewed by detectives but refused to cooperate. He is currently in custody at the Sangamon County Jail on a $250,000 Bond.

Mr. Miller was in our county jail almost three years fighting that case in which he finally reached a plea deal for the minimum sentence, “Cause called for hearing on Defendant’s motion to withdraw plea of not guilty to Count II, RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY, a Class 1 felony. Defendant is sentenced as a Class X Offender. Defendant advised of rights and possible penalties and knowingly waives same. Plea of guilty accepted. Judgment entered on plea. Pursuant to negotiations, Defendant sentenced to 6 years Department of Corrections, at 50%. Mandatory supervised release term is 3 years. Defendant to receive credit for 969 days served awaiting trial.”
