ILLINOIS STATE FAIR MAKES DREAMS COME TRUE

Karaoke Contest Winner Crowned, Performs on Grandstand Stage prior to Pentatonix concert

SPRINGFIELD, IL. – The Illinois State Fair made one fairgoer’s dream of stardom come true at on Saturday, August 12.  This year, the annual Illinois State Fairs Karaoke Contest featured 24 talented singers who were all vying for a chance to perform as an opening act for Pentatonix on the grandstand stage. Mary McMillin-Koski was named the overall winner after a fierce two-round competition on the Rising Star Stage that showcased the best of the best from the state of Illinois.

 

McMillin-Koski first competed at the regional contest during Macon Country Fair and blew people away with her performance.  Here at the Illinois State Fair, McMillin-Koski further showcased her talents by singing, “And I am Telling You” and “Power of Love.”

 

In addition to performing as an opening act to the Pentatonix concert at the Illinois State Fair, McMillin-Koski will also perform as an opening act at the DuQuoin State Fair.
