Meet David Taylor Deweese.
Mr. Deweese was arrested on 05/30/2016 for a slue of charges related to attacking his ex-girlfriend. According to police he held her captive inside his house for several hours, and caused significant injuries to her.
Today Sangamon County Assistant States Attorney Rodgers plead David Taylor Deweese out on one count of Unlawful Restraint.
“DEFENDANT DAVID T. DEWEESE: Present the State by ASA MARY E. RODGERS. Present the Defendant, in person, in the custody of the Sheriff, and by Attorney LINDSEY EVANS. Cause called for hearing on Defendant’s motion to withdraw plea of not guilty to Count II, UNLAWFUL RESTRAINT, a Class 4 Felony. Defendant advised of rights and possible penalties and knowingly waives same. Plea of guilty accepted. Judgment entered on the plea. Pursuant to negotiations, the Defendant is hereby sentenced to 24 months’ probation. Defendant is to serve 60 days in the Sangamon County Jail, with credit for 30 days served awaiting trial, good time to apply. Defendant to be assessed court costs. Counts I and III dismissed pursuant to plea. Defendant advised of appeal rights and remanded to the custody of the Sheriff. CAUSE STRICKEN.”
