Today Honorable Pete Cavanagh sentenced Ms. Little to 20 Years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.

According to The State Journal Register ”

Sangamon County State’s Attorney John Milhiser had recommended a 20-year sentence. Sangamon County public defender Robert Scherschligt told the court a sentence of no more than 12 years would be appropriate.

Authorities said Little was intoxicated at the time of the Oct. 25, 2014, crash that killed Danielle Allen, 16, of Pleasant Plains and Steven Moore, 35, of Jacksonville.

Members of Allen’s and Moore’s families provided tearful testimony about their loss and how it has affected their families.

Little also addressed the court and the families and spoke about how she regretted her decisions and asked for their forgiveness.

She was driving a Hyundai Sonata on Illinois 125 between Springfield and Pleasant Plains when she tried to pass a vehicle, ran off the road and crashed into the car driven by Allen.

Moore was a passenger in the car Little was driving.

Little’s blood-alcohol level at the time of the crash was 0.23 percent, or almost three times the legal driving limit, Milhiser said. Evidence of marijuana use also was found in Little’s urine.”
