Faulty equipment? You be the judge?
On April 21, 2017 Randy Upp, a after, grandfather, and great grandfather. Rant was struck head on by an oncoming van Driven by Mrs Terssa Perkins. The incident was witness by many. The actual report states (in the short version) Mrs Perkins swerved off the road, over correcting and striking Mr upp head on. Mrs Perkins was transported by ambulance and was in ICU for a very short stay. Randy did not die ant the scene, he was transported via lifeflight to St. John’s. Shortly after arrival he succumbed to his injuries, but had time to say goodbye to his wife of 50 years and two beautiful daughters. The hardest part was his grandkids, and great grandkids were there witness.
Mrs. Perkins was charged with operating a uninsured vehicle, Operating a vehicle with faulty equipment,Also no seatbelt.
In Mrs perkins defense bloodwork came back Clean! In my interpretation (and I by far an attorney, if you are operating an unsafe vehicle, that meets state statute for negligent homicide? At least involuntary manslaughter? I’m just saying if u take a life and it’s you fault, there is got to be some real criminal charge.
No insurance? Now the family’s insurance and cash is depleted due to a helicopter ride, emergency medical care, and a modest burial.
Folks please share, call macoupin county states attorney and petition for a formal felony charge! Call your senators, mayor, and spread the work. His wife has been a loyal business owner for 40+ years and is struggling now because she never realized the impact on others he had. The biggest thing was little stuff he did around the house. Pull together for the family guys. Saddens all of us when people wrongly accused go to jail but when it’s beaten they walk.
Her next court date in macoupin is Oct 4. Let’s make an impact!
Peace, love, and clear light…see you soon my friend
