Involuntary Manslaughter or $500 Ticket… Terssa R. Perkins

Terssa R. Perkins: involuntary manslaughter or a 500$ ticket?

Faulty equipment? You be the judge?

On April 21, 2017 Randy Upp, a after, grandfather, and great grandfather. Rant was struck head on by an oncoming van Driven by Mrs Terssa Perkins. The incident was witness by many. The actual report states (in the short version) Mrs Perkins swerved off the road, over correcting and striking Mr upp head on. Mrs Perkins was transported by ambulance and was in ICU for a very short stay. Randy did not die ant the scene, he was transported via lifeflight to St. John’s. Shortly after arrival he succumbed to his injuries, but had time to say goodbye to his wife of 50 years and two beautiful daughters. The hardest part was his grandkids, and great grandkids were there witness.

Mrs. Perkins was charged with operating a uninsured vehicle, Operating a vehicle with faulty equipment,Also no seatbelt.

In Mrs perkins defense bloodwork came back Clean! In my interpretation (and I by far an attorney, if you are operating an unsafe vehicle, that meets state statute for negligent homicide? At least involuntary manslaughter? I’m just saying if u take a life and it’s you fault, there is got to be some real criminal charge.

No insurance? Now the family’s insurance and cash is depleted due to a helicopter ride, emergency medical care, and a modest burial.

Folks please share, call macoupin county states attorney and petition for a formal felony charge! Call your senators, mayor, and spread the work. His wife has been a loyal business owner for 40+ years and is struggling now because she never realized the impact on others he had. The biggest thing was little stuff he did around the house. Pull together for the family guys. Saddens all of us when people wrongly accused go to jail but when it’s beaten they walk.

Her next court date in macoupin is Oct 4. Let’s make an impact!

Peace, love, and clear light…see you soon my friend

First off, it’s Miss Tressa Perkins. Second, who the hell wrote this? Many grammar errors. Third, nothing faulty about the vehicle. And if there was no insurance, then the family sues her. It’s not like it was intentional that she hit the guy head in and purposefully killed him. So where do you get manslaugter charges? I feel for the family that had to suffer because of this but manslaugter charges are absurd. Take her to court and sue her for the damages done. Get over yourselves. Have a nice day!

  8. I personally know Tessa. She became a mother at a very young age and did everything to defy the odds to obtain her High School Diploma, and is already working in a certified field, and attending college working on a degree. An 18 year old mother of 2, in college and working living on her own was unable to pay her car insurance and was unfortunate enough to end up in a horrible accident. The events of that day haunt her, charges will ruin a young mother who is actually making something of herself. She is punishing herself mentally. The situation is so very sad for both sides, but taking her future away from her does not bring back the gentalman who lost his life

I don’t know the story, only what I have read. It is sad for both sides. But a bad decision cannot be defended by “she’s a young mother ” or a bad up bringing, or any other excuse. No person should take a life, justifiable or otherwise. The young lady, yes this is sad, apparently had a bad support system. Two kids at 18 is an obvious sign of that. From a financial standpoint there are several state and federal programs to help her. Bad parenting is bad parenting, no excuses. Unfortunately situations like this are destined to repeat themselves. More than likely het mother had kids at a young age also. Morals, motivation, self control, responsive behavior, and good choices are learned by example and experience. The most heart breaking thing is the two kids will be burdened to a bane of existing with out a father(or fathers I don’t know) and to follow there role models in there adult lives.
Thank you for your comment, I don’t know the family, but from what I read this is very sad for everyone. The young lady made the decision and now she has to live with the fact that she caused the death of another being.

Do you think she intentionally woke up that day and said hey, today is a good day to fuck my life up and kill someone? You are pathetic! The father is in the life of those children. She is not a murderer. She’s a very good person unlike most of the area. She works her ass off to provide for her family. It was a pure accident. That’s why it was called an accident. An unfortunate one at that. It’s funny how people get on here and start pointing fingers and making shit up before knowing facts. Murder is intentional. This was far from it. So stop the unjust labeling of that. Asshat, have a good day and pray you never have an accident that claims the life of someone regardless of having insurance or not.

  11. Ok, it wasn’t intentional, but the driving without insurance was. Is she gonna personally cut the victims family the large check that the insurance company she didn’t have would have? There are buses in this city that a lot of people in similar situations to hers are using every day. I’m not heartless, and I do think it was an accident, so let the punishment fit the crime:
    1 year supervised release
100 hours community service to victim impact panels
    License revocation for life.

OMG for life! You’re thinking.. Bear in mind she’s 18 and single, she’s probably gonna have a man that can drive just fine eventually. No jail time.
